Olympic Skater Johnny Weir Thrilled About Collaboration With eDressMe.com on New Little Black Dress Collection
Three-time U.S. national figure-skating champion and two-time U.S. Olympian Johnny Weir is no stranger to fashion. Often lauded for his unique sense of style, Mr. Weir has taken to the ice is in style confections of sequins and feathers, mesh and lace, that have created almost as much of a sensation as the skating programs themselves. In addition to designing many of his own skating costumes, Weir has previously designed competition wear for Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov as well as Oksana Baiul.
Now, the skating champ is taking his talents from the rink to the runway. eDressMe.com is pleased to announce our exclusive partnership with Johnny Weir in launching the skating stars first collection. The Little Black Dress collection will be available at eDressMe.com on April 30, 2011, coinciding with the second annual Ice Dreams show, taking place in Bensenville, IL. The event allows young skaters the chance to skate alongside some of the sports top competitors, including Weir, U.S. Silver Medalist Brandon Mroz, Junior World Silver Medalist Agnes Zawadzi, and Ice Dance Olympians Denis Petukhov and Melissa Gregory, as well as many others. The performers will be modeling the items from the landmark capsule collection at the event.
The collection will feature the use of such materials as antique matte satin, silk, crepe stretch jersey, tulle, silk taffeta and others, with prices ranging from $198 to $298. The first six Little Black Dress styles will incorporate decorative elements such as ostrich feathers, netting, and sequins to create fresh, fashion-forward creations. Mr. Weir is thrilled about the collaboration, saying that the concept for the line is an update on a classic fashion staple through the use of unique, fanciful design elements. His fans, Weir says, have learned to expect the unexpected from him and they certainly wont be disappointed by this new endeavor.
